Shiwani is a dedicated Speech and Language Therapist working in the NHS with a passion for unlocking the communicative potential of every child. Shiwani has dedicated herself to the noble profession of speech and language therapy for the past three years.

Her journey began with a desire to make a tangible difference in the lives of those facing communication barriers. Shiwani has a master’s degree in Speech and Language Therapy from City University London and is HCPC and RCSLT registered, specialising in paediatric care.

At the core of her responsibilities lies crucial task of conducting ADOS assessments, employing her keen observational skills and deep understanding of autism spectrum disorders to provide accurate diagnoses and tailored interventions.

Shiwani also provides knowledge and support, guiding school staff and parents through the range of communication strategies and interventions essential for nurturing the development of children with autism. Shiwani works closely with a range of professionals to provide insight into a child’s communication and interaction strengths and needs to develop part of a child’s Education Health Care Plan (EHCP)

In her therapy sessions, Shiwani is creative using a blend of traditional techniques and innovative approaches, she crafts personalised interventions that resonate with each child’s unique strengths and challenges. Shiwani is experienced and trained in using Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), working with children who are Gestalt Language Processors (GLP), supporting functional communication skills and using a range of interventions to support overall language development. Shiwani is passionate about working with families and young people to support them in their journey from receiving a diagnosis to post-diagnostic support.
