Dr. Muzafar Hawramy completed his core psychiatry training at the South London and Maudsley training scheme, focusing on General Adult Psychiatry, Liaison Psychiatry, Psychological Medicine, Intellectual Disability, and Older Adults Psychiatry. His training took place at notable hospitals such as St Thomas’, Guy’s, Maudsley, and Lambeth. Dr. Hawramy later completed his higher psychiatry training in Intellectual Disability in Bristol and Gloucestershire as part of Severn Postgraduate Medical Education.

In addition to psychiatry, Dr. Muzafar Hawramy has a postgraduate education in neurology and holds a master’s degree in Clinical Neurology. He also earned a degree in Medical Education. Dr. Hawramy is a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists and holds a Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training. He is listed on the General Medical Council’s specialist register.

Dr. Hawramy has worked for many years as a consultant psychiatrist in the National Health Service (NHS), where he has also served as an educational and clinical supervisor for core and higher psychiatry trainees. Furthermore, he is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy in the United Kingdom. His research contributions have been published in peer-reviewed journals, particularly in the fields of psychiatry and neuropsychiatry. His main interest revolves around the brain-mind interface, where thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are disrupted due to brain development issues or central nervous system illnesses.

Currently, Dr. Muzafar Hawramy works part-time as a consultant with the NHS in London. In his private practice, he provides diagnostic assessments, treatment, and expert opinions for adults with Neurodevelopmental Disorders, Learning Disabilities, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Motor Disorders, and Specific Learning Difficulties. He also specializes in treating associated mental illnesses, challenging behavior, and neuropsychiatric conditions.
